The offsite Solution
Four SmartClass® modular classrooms with WCs were delivered  to site with 80% of the works having already been completed at our 70,000 sq ft purpose-built manufacturing facility, this included, electrics, internal partitioning, flooring, cladding and features an Air Sourced Heat Pump in accordance with NZEB requirements. The project was completed within 16 weeks and was delivered on time and to budget.
Harnessing innovation
This project also included early adoption of BIM due to the short deadline which allowed the project to be seen and reviewed in its entirety, identifying any issues at the design stage, and providing the client with a solution.
Comprehensive site works
McAvoy also facilitated site works including landscaping around the building, footpaths, and a small car park area for ease of accessibility into the classrooms.
Project Challenges
With a tight programme and a challenging site area due to a tree lined avenue, alot of planning went into scheduling as well as tree surgery and collaboration with local residents to ensure minimal disruption to them.
