Learning by Doing
McAvoy is widely acknowledged as a UK and Ireland go-to provider for semi-permanent and permanent education accommodation. In the last 5 years we have delivered more than 20,000 new school places, utilising fast-track, offsite techniques to reduce lead times by up to half and helping educational planners meet the increasing demand for new schools, extensions and classrooms across the UK and Ireland.
What We Do
We understand how important it is to create buildings that inspire the next generation to reach their potential - buildings which are also an invaluable community resource.
Our dedicated education teams work collaboratively with schools, LEAs, colleges, and universities to help deliver their vision, within budget constraints and to the most challenging programmes. McAvoy offers a complete range of ‘best in class’ modular solutions for education. Our expertise includes complete schools, standalone classrooms, and seamless extensions to existing buildings for:
- Primary schools
- Secondary education
- Free schools
- Special educational needs (SEN)
- Sixth form centres
Minimising disruption to teaching is an absolute priority for McAvoy. We will maximise construction and fitting out offsite and schedule module installation for holiday periods and quieter times wherever possible. We work closely with customers such as the Department for Education, Local Authorities and Trusts and have a proven track record of delivering high quality school buildings across the UK and Ireland.
Our aim is to exceed expectations every time with our inspiring modular space solutions.
We use the latest advances in offsite construction to deliver education buildings on time and on budget. We are manufacturing exemplars in our award-winning application of digital technology which includes early adoption BIM, Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality. These technologies enable us to communicate the design for new facilities much more effectively, and present options for discussion with stakeholders in an efficient and timely manner. We can even place our customers and end-users virtually into their building as part of the design process so they can feel and experience the learning environments and confirm our layouts work for them.
