Through early engagement and continued collaboration with the client, McAvoy developed a bespoke design for the office building, ensuring the layout and flow were suitable for the client’s needs. The building comprises training facilities and breakaway areas. High levels of data were also incorporated to ensure the facility had the necessary IT infrastructure to deal with a high volume of incoming calls.

Located in a healthcare park, on a busy site that is used by emergency vehicles, speed of construction was a key driver for the client. A modular solution was chosen due to the ability to commence construction in the factory simultaneously with the groundworks on site, ensuring a reduced programme compared to traditional construction. All 7 modules were installed in one day, despite adverse weather conditions – ensuring minimum disruption to the site.

Despite programme and site constraints the building was handed over 1 week ahead of programme, enabling early occupation. This was welcomed by the client as the building was required to deal with increased demand due to the Coronavirus outbreak.
