ROLE SUMMARY

Reporting to the National SMB Sales Manager, the SMB Sales Manager will be responsible for
developing business activity in relation to, modular construction solutions for sale and rental to selected sectors in the South West of England.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

• To develop new singular modular building opportunities for sale and rental in GB.
• To champion the Barbour ABI, Glenigans and any other market information software and
update the CRM system in capturing timely and accurate information from these tools
which drives the sales and marketing objectives of the business.
• Develop contacts and relationships with the key stakeholders to achieve quarterly and
annual modular sales and rental targets to Education, Commercial, Health, and
Infrastructure Sectors.
• Develop and present business solutions and proposals to potential new customers.
• To identify and build a long-term active pipeline for their team, exploring both existing
markets and targeting new market opportunities.
• To produce weekly and monthly pipeline sales figures for respective sales meetings as
requested by the Head of Business Development.
• To manage and deal with customer enquiries.
• To liaise with internal technical support to deliver timely quotation and bid proposals for
prospective customers.
• Present the company at all association trade shows and exhibitions.
• As required, liaise with Design, Manufacturing and Contract Managers to ensure projects
are delivered on time and within budget.
• Work with the wider McAvoy Team to effectively represent and grow the business and
contribute to the culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
• Promote and ensure a safe working environment, ensuring compliance with SHE Policies
and Procedures.
• Carry out other duties that are consistent with the job holder’s knowledge and skills to
assist the company in achieving its goals and objectives.
This role description is intended to give the post holder an appreciation of the role envisaged for
the SMB Sales Manager. Specific tasks and objectives will be agreed with the post holder at
regular intervals.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Technical Competencies

Essential

➢ A proven track record in business development and sales either within modular buildings
sales or rental, or SFS, timber frame buildings or bathroom pods or you will have
experience of working for a main contractor across GB.
➢ Sound working knowledge of modern methods of construction.
➢ Strong relationship building to develop sales and rental of modular buildings.
➢ Strong literary and IT skills for formal report writing, customer and other internal and
external presentations.
Desirable
➢ Experience in modular buildings sales or rental.
➢ Experience in the construction industry or related industry.
