Top CCS audit marks at our Stanton Cross Primary School site

We’re delighted to have received another perfect Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) score, this time after an audit at our Stanton Cross Primary School site. The site team were commended on implementing the ‘Code of Considerate Practice’ to an extremely high standard, as well as:

– Adding social value – over 90% of our onsite workforce are locally sourced

– Our commitment to using alternative energy, which has resulted in a drastic reduction in fuel usage. Toolbox talks and training are also held regularly to educate our workforce on carbon reduction and climate change

– Making workplace health & safety our number one priority. Our #WorkSafeHomeSafe campaign provides information and advice on mental health & wellbeing

The two-storey primary school is being delivered on behalf of our client North Northamptonshire Council and will accommodate up to 420 pupils between the ages of four and 11. The school will feature classrooms, a main hall and kitchen along with a playground, soft play area and a dedicated children’s centre for younger pupils.

The project has created new jobs in the area, with up to 100 people employed on site during peak construction.

Stephen Clayton Preconstruction Director at McAvoy said: “The new Stanton Cross Primary School is a high-quality, well-designed building that will provide an excellent learning environment for pupils along with space for play and downtime. The use of offsite construction also means that we can complete the building much more quickly, while reducing disruption on and around the site.

“We’re very pleased to have been entrusted to deliver the new school – the McAvoy team benefits from a huge amount of experience in delivering education buildings, so the project is in safe hands.”

Lee Barrett, Divisional Operations Director for Vistry Group and a representative of Stanton Cross Developments LLP, promoters of the Stanton Cross project, said: “As the new community at Stanton Cross continues to grow and go from strength to strength, we are delighted that construction is now well underway on the new primary school. The provision of high-quality community facilities such as this is absolutely key to our vision for Stanton Cross.”
