On Friday 27th January, Year 13 and 14 Business Studies students from St. Patrick’s College, Dungannon visited The McAvoy Group’s head office in Coalisland.

Students and staff members received a presentation on The McAvoy Group and the offsite construction process from Martin Harvey, Design and Technical Services Manager. Learning more about the HR function at McAvoy afforded the students the opportunity to gather information which would complement their coursework and studies for their AS and A-Levels in Business Studies.

Students and staff also received a tour of the manufacturing facility in Coalisland. During the factory tour, the students got the chance to see a live project at manufacturing stage, as well as being able to walk through the buildings to get a better understanding of offsite modular construction and the benefits it holds over traditional builds. The factory tour concluded with a Q&A session with McAvoy employees involved in the design of buildings.
