McAvoy’s Orsett Heath Academy Achieves Outstanding CCS Audit Score

We are thrilled to announce that McAvoy’s Orsett Heath Academy site has achieved a score of 44 out of 45 in its latest Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) audit. This accomplishment reflects our continued commitment to driving positive change and improvement.

The Orsett Heath Academy site received a commendable score of 40 out of 45 after its first audit. This score was a testament to our dedication to maintaining high standards and implementing best practices in all aspects of our operations. However, we recognised areas for improvement and were committed to addressing these to drive higher standards across our site activities.

In the most recent audit, our efforts were rewarded with an exceptional score of 44 out of 45. This demonstrates our unwavering commitment to the principles of the CCS and our determination to drive higher standards across our site activities and create a positive impact on our workforce and the communities we work in.

Key highlights from the audit include:

  • Positive Progress and High Standards: The audit recognised significant improvements and sustained high standards since the last visit.
  • Strong Commitment to CCS Code: We demonstrated unwavering dedication to all three sections of the CCS code, continually challenging ourselves to develop and excel as a team.
  • Local Employment Initiatives: We actively supported the community by hiring new employees from the borough, collaborating with local colleges to provide career advice, and hosting site visits for students from Orsett Heath Academy.
  • Community Support: Our efforts to support the local food bank in Grays town centre were highly commended.
  • Environmental Communication: We effectively communicated our environmental achievements through site inductions, a Facebook community page, and toolbox talks with our workforce.
  • Carbon Reduction Training: We conducted comprehensive training on our carbon reduction plan with our supply chain, progressing towards achieving a BREEAM ‘Very Good’ rating.

We would like to extend our thanks to our dedicated team, for their hard work and commitment. We also appreciate the support and cooperation of the local community, which has been integral to the success of this project.

As we move forward, we remain dedicated to upholding the values of CCS and setting new standards of excellence in the industry.
