McAvoys have a dedicated steel fabricating and POD assembly facility. The assembly line set up ensures the pods move efficiently through the factory.
The POD construction is a light weight galvanised Steel Cage, with C section wall studs of normally 50 x 70mm. This construction method allows the on site contractor to tie in directly to our cage without the need for additional stud work around the POD.
There are two types of floors which can be manufactured, a level access POD with a thick floor using box section and steel plate set to create falls to a shower gully. The floor thickness is determined by the on site contractors requirements. We can also manufacture a thin floor using 6mm sheet steel which removes the need for any recesses to be allowed for on site.
The internal lining of the POD is normally a 12.5mm moisture resistant plasterboard, however this can be changed to comply with the clients specification.
Range of internal finishes offered from tiles, vinyl, pvc wall cladding, painted finish. Finishes including sanitary ware provided to McAvoys by pre approved suppliers. All sub contractors are also pre approved prior to commencement within the McAvoy manufacturing facilities.
