Speedy Success

McAvoy Group has secured a major supply chain agreement with Speedy Hire Plc to manufacture and supply antivandal units and modular buildings over the next 12 months.

Based at Newton-Lee-Willows on Merseyside, Speedy Hire is the United Kingdom’s market leader in the hire of plant, equipment and tools to contractors and builders.

McAvoy will supply products from its existing and successful Safe Space portfolio in line with Speedy Hire’s requirements and specifications. These will be provided by Speedy Hire to customers using its more than 300 depots across the British Isles.

Orla Corr said: “This is an immensely important agreement for us from a very prestigious customer. It establishes us in Great Britain, a target growth market for us, as a leading manufacturer of quality modular buildings and accommodation units.’’

“We’ve worked very closely with the team at Speedy Hire in the development of our existing products to their exacting specifications in terms of quality, adaptability, value for money and delivery. Our extensive investment in quality systems, digital technology and lean manufacturing techniques at Lisburn helped us to secure this very substantial contract.”

Richard Green, Managing Director of the Speedy Hire Cabin Division said: “This agreement with the McAvoy Group will enable us to keep pace with the very strong demand for our services from the construction industry in particular throughout the British Isles. Our strategy is growth. To help us achieve this our focus is on buying the best equipment from the best manufacturers. We look for suppliers like McAvoy that are dedicated to best practice, top quality products and excellent customer support. It will give us access to the manufacturing facility at Lisburn, one of the best in the industry.

“We were also impressed by McAvoy’s determined and professional approach. The group demonstrated that it really wanted our business and was prepared to ‘pull out all the stops’ to clinch the deal. But what impressed us most was McAvoy’s ability to maintain consistently high quality levels over volume production,” he added.

Listed on the London Stock Exchange earlier in the year, Speedy Hire is a market leader in the hire of plant, equipment and tools to a broad cross-section of industries.
