The McAvoy Group was awarded this Design and Build Contract through a competitive tendering process under the terms of the Buying Solutions Framework to provide a brand new Endoscopy Suite.
Subsequent to increased demand for specific healthcare services Altnagelvin Hospital had an immediate requirement for additional cleanroom facilities.
Project Challenges
A number of variables impacted on the buildability of the modular units, not least the fact that the site was isolated in voids designed into the hospital layout. Access to the site was limited and necessitated the use of offsite technology.
The Offsite Solution
McAvoy proposed a steel framed system which was designed to match the architecture of the hospital and used cost effective materials.
It also provided a turnkey service with responsibility for building design and manufacture, full mechanical, electrical and civil works.
