We are currently recruiting for an Estimator for our head office in Dungannon. This full time, permanent position will involve pricing tender enquiries for all types of projects, following up enquiries, negotiating contracts and preparing valuations.

Main Duties

  • To provide a costing service at tender stage for customer and clients using Conquest estimating system
  • To ensure that estimates prepared are cost effective and competitive within the industry
  • Chase quotations lists on a weekly basis and update Conquest system
  • Follow up each tender with customer to ensure that business opportunities are capitalised
  • Meet pre-job commencement with QS and Contracts Management team on a weekly basis to formally handover file, ensuring that the correct information is passed to the production team
  • Price variations and extras during each contract before work proceeds and discuss variations and extras with the QS and Contracts Management team and agree these in writing
  • Pull all final costs together and prepare final bill for each project
  • Liaise with QS and Contracts Management regularly on widening pool of sub-contractors and suppliers
  • Review and monitor job costs versus budgets on conquest
  • Promote and ensure a safe working environment, ensuring compliance with housekeeping and health and safety legislation
  • Carry out other duties that are consistent with the job holder’s knowledge and skills and are necessary for the satisfactory completion of contracts and to assist the company in achieving its goals and objectives

Essential Criteria

  • Estimating experience (2-3 years) with a main contractor or construction company
  • Demonstrate experience across all stages of a project from concept to handover
  • Relevant 3rd level qualification
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

Desirable Criteria

  • Conquest experience
  • Experience of different types of contract: JCT, NEC
